After two decades working on conflict, protection of civilians and public sector reform, I now focus on how artificial intelligence is reshaping governance and public life. My goal is to make AI understandable for non-experts and to help institutions use it in ways that strengthen, rather than weaken, democracy.
What I do now
Writing and public debate
I write accessible pieces in English and Albanian on:
- How digital platforms and AI tools change the relationship between citizens and the state.
- What European debates on AI regulation mean for smaller democracies.
- How AI is already affecting jobs, education and public administration.
- How small states can use AI in foreign policy, security and sanctions.
Trainings and workshops
- AI literacy for citizens and civil society
Introductory talks and workshops that explain what AI is, what it is not, and how people can use it safely in their daily lives. - AI for public servants and diplomats
Practical sessions on using AI to draft and edit briefs, speeches and talking points, compare legal texts, and prepare public communication – always with human judgment at the centre. - AI for journalists and media professionals
Workshops on using AI as a reporting tool, covering AI and digital governance responsibly, and understanding disinformation and deepfakes. - Strategic gaming and scenario work
Adapting my experience with negotiation, stabilization and conflict analysis to AI-related questions – for example, tabletop exercises on how institutions respond to AI-driven disinformation or data leaks.
Working with partners
I collaborate with public institutions, universities, media outlets and initiatives such as AI-focused organizations in Albania and abroad. Some of the services above I also offer as a consultant, and I am open to combining them with joint projects, grant-funded programmes and shared trainings.
